Luge Silver: Nina Reithmayer upkeeps the Tirolean luge tradition - (25.02.2010)


In her second Olympic Games, Nina Reithmayer from Innsbruck managed to capture a silver medal in the women’s single luge. With her superb ride at Whistler’s Sliding Center the likeable Tirolean prevented the German team from taking another clean podium sweep, and continued Tirol’s tradition of silver medals in luge. In the interview Reithmayer talks about her incredible run and the first hours after her great success and explains.

As from today Rosi Mittermaier is one of the first ambassadors for the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. The German skiing legend has a particular affinity with the promotion of sport for young people. At present she is in Whistler Mountain with 60 children from Germany, showing them the fascination of Olympics. In the interview Rosi Mittermaier speaks of how parents must set a sporting example to their children. Which sport the children then discover for themselves is up to them. Rosi Mittermaier also tells us how nervous she gets when son Felix Neureuther is a starter in World Cup races.
